German Shorthaired Pointers

Hello, my name is Brandon Rhome, proprietor of ACHTUNG! Sporting Endeavors and Zwinger vom Schwarzen Seil. I live in Southeastern Connecticut with my beautiful wife Jennifer and two boys, Connor (9) and Nolan (5). I recently retired from the Navy as a Submarine Independent Duty Corpsman after 20 years of honorable service. While on ctive duty,I spent my sea time on nuclear powered cruisers and fast attack submarines, and have been forward deployed in direct support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. I've been involved with American bred German Shorthairs for 17 years having purchased my first Shorthair Zack from Deb Goodie of "Tapestry GSPs". I grew up in rural Northwest Ohio, the only son (three sisters, yikes!) of a State of Ohio game warden and a dry cleaners manager. My first trips afield were for squirrels with my Dad, who introduced me to a variety of hunting dogs, from beagles, to coonhounds, to setters, to Labs. I mostly hunted rabbits and pheasants behind one beagle named Babe. As a child I lived next door the high school football coach whose son Gerry was my best friend. They had an older Shorthair named Missy who was my first exposure to Shorthairs and one of the reasons I bought my first one. I have trained, bred, and handled American bred Shorthairs in a variety of venues for the last 17 years, but now I feel I have come full circle and am embarking on a new endeavor by focusing my breeding on true Deutsch Kurzhaars registered with the Deutsch Kurzhaar Verband and the FCI. I also am hanging my shingle out as a multi-breed trainer focusing of helping the owner get the most out of their dog. I look forward to serving you, and putting forth quality examples of the breed who will provide foot hunters with companions who make them smile for years to come.
